In times of crisis and emergency, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors has a long and proud tradition of adopting resolutions that express our city's view on urgent national issues. Today we face the gravest legal and mob assaults on voting rights and democracy since the Jim Crow era of the last century. Therefore, I ask you and your fellow supervisors to pass a resolution condemning all efforts to suppress voting rights, supporting the For the People Act, and calling for an end to the anti-democratic Senate filibuster rule.
